"A 24K Gold Grammy Night"

Last night the 60th Annual Grammy Awards aired on CBS with all the style and flair we've come to know and love. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, brought back comedian James Corden as host, and took the show came to NYC where the stars took to the red carpet in their best-dressed wares, setting the tone for the evening.

The night opened up with Kendrick Lamar and continued as the stage lit up with electrifying performances by DJ Khaled feat Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, Kendrick Lamar and Bruno Mars feat Cardi B. Later that evening Puerto Rican pop star Luis Fonsi performed his smash hit “Despasito” feat. Daddy Yankee which

got the crowd moving.

There were also emotional and touching moments such as the tribute to music's biggest names who were lost over the past year. Another highlight was the call to arms given by Janelle Monáe in which she called for all artists, male and female, to work together in the fight against harassment and gender inequality in the music industry. This led to a soul-stirring performance by Kesha singing her hit "Praying” a song of forgiveness and hope for those that had hurt her in the past.where she was joined on stage by Camilla Cabello, Bebe Rexha, Cyndi Lauper, Andra Day and Julia Michaels. Finally, rapper Logic performed the aptly titled "1-800-273-8255" with Khalid and Alessia Cara in a moving performance where he offered hope for those struggling with thoughts of depression and suicide.

Members of the band U2 ended the night by presenting the coveted “Album of the Year” award, won by none other than Bruno Mars for 24K Magic which was easily the breakout star of the night. His speech was nothing short of humbling where he thanked all the greats R&B musicians that came before him like Babyface and Teddy Riley who have influenced his career.

Big winners of the evening included:

  • Bruno Mars with 6 wins including “Record of the Year”, “Song of the Year” and “Album of the Year”

  • Kendrick Lamar with 4 wins including “Best Rap Album”, & “Best Rap Performance”

  • Dave Chappell for “Best Comedy Album”
