D.A.K.A meets Sgt. Pepper

One of my favorite pastimes is thrifting. My wardrobe breakdown is 50% secondhand, 30% retail and 20% DIY projects (mostly thrifted pieces I DeeMixed)

A hold over from my “broke college student” days, there’s truly an art to shopping second hand. Sometimes I’m looking for a specific piece to complete a look or just looking for inspiration. No matter what though, the key thing is to always keep an open mind and find the deals!

I picked up this jacket on one of my recent thrifting sprees at Buffalo Exchange here in Charlotte (I went in to sell, but I swear I can’t go in there without buying something, smh) but when I saw this jacket I was instantly OBSESSED with it. It fit me perfectly and the pattern reminded me of the psychedelic prints from the 60s: think Jimi Hendrix style and the Beatles during the “Sgt. Pepper” Era. And, as I mentioned earlier, the deal got me: $10!

Definitely can’t wait to wear this out soon, but enjoy this little preview shoot for now!

Sincerely, D.A.K.A
