"Flexin' & Finessin'"

On Friday, Bruno Mars dropped the official remix video for his song “Finesse” and I was so excited (if you missed it catch it HERE). This is my favorite song from his 24K Magic album and combines Bruno’s signature raspy vocals over a beat that sounds like it’s straight out of 1992. The remix, which features Cardi B, adds a cool feminine energy that compliments the song perfectly. The album art drew me in from the beginning just from the outfits (the 90s is one of my favorite fashion eras).

Bruno Mars has proven time and again that he is a master at capturing the soul and energy of music styles and artists before him, and he shows that creativity through his music videos. The video for “Finesse” doesn’t disappoint either. Mars dedicated the song and video to the classic 90s sketch comedy show In Living Color and hit the mark completely.

From the intro with the paintbrushes to the set and costumes and the Fly Girls, I was instantly taken back to my childhood watching reruns on the TV.

With a string of massive hits in 2017 including “Versace on the Floor”, “That’s What I Like” and the title track “24K Magic”, “Finesse” is sure to be a jam for the 2018 and set Mars up for another chart-topping year.

I can’t wait to hear and see what Bruno comes up with next.
