#My7Things: Zaddy Shirt

"Did someone call for Zaddy?"

I consider myself to be a pretty laid back guy. I love laid back clothes and feeling comfortable, which is why I’m attracted to loose flowing pieces like this kimono style top.

There’s not really much of a story behind this particular one except I just had to have it when I saw it in the display window at H&M a couple years ago. What really attracted me was the pattern. It reminds me of the traditional African print and Indonesian batik fabrics that I’ve come to love over the past few years. It’s the perfect mix of eastern influence, ethnic textiles and Western tailoring.

I call it my “Zaddy shirt” & I feel pretty damn sexy in it! In the summer I like to wear it pinned on to the side and with a belt, giving me a really chic Miami Vice vibe as pictured above. In the colder months, I’ll wear it as an overlay on top of a turtleneck or my black jumpsuit for some winter versatility.

I like this piece so much that I bought another one similar to it at a thrift store and wear it pretty much the same way. This is actually one of four robe-like pieces I own, and each one gives me a different feeling.

Hey, if it's not broke don't fix it. Right?

Sincerely, D.A.K.A
