Hey Spring! Glad you decided to show up…again. If you know anything about North Carolina weather this time of year, then you know there's 12 seasons that come and go at will. I won’t break them all down but please know that it’s not uncommon to see people in the city layered in a scarf and coat at 7 a.m., grabbing lunch in a rain jacket and boots at noon, and then switching to sundresses and open chest shirts by happy hour.
Luckily, when I caught up with my friend Elton to do this impromptu shoot it was one of those sunny 70-degrees-in-the-shade kinds of Friday afternoons. He had just stocked up on some new essentials for the season, so I had to get my hands on the wardrobe while it was fresh.
I firmly believe you can never go wrong with a floral pattern in spring (no matter what Miranda Priestly says), but it definitely matters how you wear it. This pastel blue shirt has a vintage feel with a modern edge and pairs perfectly with distressed double denim for a chic city vibe. Combined with a pair of well-worn canvas sneakers it all becomes effortless.
